Vision

Uppsala Konsert & Kongress (Uppsala Konsert & Kongress) will offer a meeting place for concerts, conferences and gatherings for the residents of Uppsala and visitors to the city. Our goal is to create the broadest and most varied range possible in the cultural field, with something that appeals to virtually everyone who lives in Uppsala.

Our success will be driven through enhancing existing relationships and collaborations, alongside establishing new relationships at both the local and international levels. The programme incorporates touring productions, close liaison with artists and organisations and our own productions.  At UKK, both advanced connoisseurs of culture and those with a general curiosity will encounter culture delivered to a set of the highest quality standards.

The primary task of UKK in the field of meetings is to strengthen the hospitality industry, which means that we place a major emphasis of booking national and international meetings and conferences. But of course we are also an active partner to local businesses, municipalities, regions and the academic world.

In order to offer culture and meeting guests the service they expect, we also run restaurant operations. In addition to this, we have a technical crew and facility department, a marketing department and reception with a ticketing office and meetings service.

Uppsala Konsert & Kongress makes a strong contribution to the high ranking placement of Uppsala in the national meeting statistics. In terms of larger gatherings and conferences, Uppsala is the biggest destination in the country and UKK has also arranged many international conferences and meetings. Programme activities attract visitors from near and far and contribute to giving residents of Uppsala the experiences that once upon a time, they had to go outside Uppsala to enjoy.

UKKsmart – our approach in five principles

We have worked together within our organisation to develop five key principles for our way of working – principles that we gather together under the term UKKsmart. All employees are involved in improving these principles and UKKsmart is a constantly evolving work in progress.

Identity. We are a centre for Culture and Meetings. Our role models are other highly attractive, dynamic operations. We are a modern organisation and at the forefront in terms of our organisation, digitisation, financial governance, administration, IT, service, sustainability, equality and content.

Open doors. We carry weight as an institution but can easily work as a free agent. We are easy to collaborate with, easy to visit, open and easily accessible. We encourage good initiatives, both our own and those of others.

Position. We are strongly local while also constantly in dialogue with the international community.  This permeates the organisation at all levels.

Smart. We choose smart solutions, not the most expensive and prestigious.  We are creative, innovative and personable.
